WHO IS BADFISH?

Kasey Hughes founded Badfish in San Diego, California, where she discovered her love for handcrafting and wax carving the designs she had always dreamed of wearing. What began in her garage quickly evolved into something bigger when she started using discarded surfboard resin scraps and transforming the waste into a vibrant new collection of surfite jewelry. To date, she has recycled over 200 pounds of resin, giving new life to materials that would have otherwise been thrown away.

Seeking change and growth, Kasey moved back home to New Jersey before making the bold decision to pursue her passion on a new level in Bali, Indonesia. There, she continues to refine her craft, learning from skilled Balinese artisans and working alongside her local friends.

Today, Badfish reflects her vision: an ethically sourced surf jewelry line built on sustainability, creativity, and craftsmanship. Each high-quality piece is designed to last a lifetime while carrying the spirit of the ocean and the adventure that inspired it.
